BUTTERFLY BALL

1.  Down in the meadow, late afternoon,

     There’s wildflowers near a stone wall

     The butterflies gather and dance to a tune

     At the butterfly, butterfly ball

CHORUS: The butterfly ball is a beautiful thing

                The butterflies put on their prettiest wings

                And the grasshopper fiddles while the meadowlark sings

                At the butterfly, butterfly ball

2.  The wild nectar waltz is their favorite song

     As they flirt and they flutter and fall

     The moths and the monarchs all sing along

     At the butterfly, butterfly ball

3.  And the little caterpillar hums a gay tune

     Watching grown-ups dance by the wall

     And he knows that soon after he cocoons

     He’ll dance at the butterfly ball
