HOW THE CAMEL GOT HIS HUMP

©1998 Shelly Craig

C. Shells – “Animal Tails”  CD/Cassette

1.  Camel looking at himself in the pool

Says, “I’m too pretty to work, too cool.”

Horse says, “Camel, won’t you help me please?

This load’s so heavy, make me weak in the knees.”

CHORUS: “Hump, that’s too much work to do

Hump, I certainly won’t help you.”

Humpety, hump, humpty do, humpety hump, humpty do.

2.  Camel looking at himself in the pool,

Says, “I’m too pretty to work, too cool.”

Dog says, “Camel help me herd these sheep.

Our master says we gotta earn our keep.”

3.  Camel looking at himself in the pool

Says, “I’m too pretty to work, too cool.”

Ox says, “Camel help me pull this yoke.”

“Ha,” says the camel, “that’s a funny joke.”

4.  Man calls a Genie, cries in dismay

“Got a lazy old camel, won’t work a lick all day.”

“I’ll fix that,” says the Genie gin, gin

“Why his own words will do him in.”

5.  Genie says, “Camel give me some advice.

Got a critter who won’t work, what’s the price?”

6.  Camel looking at himself in the pool

Sees a hump growing on his back, looks like a fool

Now the camel works the day so long

And you never ever gonna hear him sing this song

Humpety hump, humpty do, humpety hump, humpty do
