I DIG DINOSAUR BONES
©2005
Lyrics: Cindy Kays/Parody of “I Dig Rock ‘n’ Roll Music” by Pau
Stookey, James Mason, Dave Dixon
C. Shells – “Cool Cats” CD
1. I dig dinosaur bones, I love to play in dirt all day
I am a paleontologist, I dig dino bones for my pay
And when the earth starts movin’, that’s when I’m really groovin’
Diggin’ fossil bones is so much fun!
2. I love Tyrannosaurus Rex, he’s the king of all the dinos you know
I love Diplodocus, too, but he was long and he was fat and slow
And when Pterodactyls start flyin’, the baby dinos start cryin’
They don’t want to end up as his lunch
3. I dig Iguanodon dinos, they lived all over the world
They stood upright on two legs but also walked around on all four
With plates on his back to keep him cool, Stegosaurus was no fool
Even though his brain was really small
4. I love ichthyosaurs, they lived in the oceans you know
They lived in the late Jurassic, ‘bout a hundred sixty million years ago
And the very first feathered bird, archaeopteryx I’ve heard
Climbed up trees to jump off to fly
REPEAT VERSE 1
