– “Animal Tails” is now available for purchase at Amazon.com. They take
most major credit cards and usually ship within 24 hours.
Best
Childrens Music.com – “BestChildrensMusic.com was created out of a
heartfelt desire to bring higher quality children’s music into the homes and
schools of children everywhere.” Their goal is to “make great children’s
music easily accessible to parents and teachers and to scour the market
looking for kid’s music that meets their standards for excellence.”
Another wonderful site for getting reviews of children’s music as well as
plenty of links to other parenting sites.

– “C. Shells,” “Animal Tails,” and “Just for Fun!” are all
available at this on-line CD store. They take most major credit cards. You can
even listen to more C. Shells songs, send us email and send in your own
reviews of the CD’s from their site.
Tom
Chapin – Tom Chapin was, for many years, the host of the popular TV show
“Make a Wish.” The younger brother of Harry Chapin, Tom performs music for
adults and kids. His many children’s albums have won numerous awards over
the years.
Children's
Music Web – The Children’s Music Web is a non-profit organization
devoted to children’s music. Their website includes articles and resources
for music education. They give awards based on age appropriate music with all
of the judging done by children with adult supervision. “Animal Tails” is
a finalist for the fall awards. Winners will be announced Sunday, October 15th
on-line at Delphi.com.
Mike
Cross – Mike is a talented performer and multi-instrumentalist from
North Carolina. He has appeared in concert locally several times over the past
few years. He just released a children’s album that is fun for the entire
family.
Dirty
Linen Magazine – The premiere magazine featuring folk, acoustic and
world music, they also have a calendar of performers concert gigs. Check out
C. Shells listing here, too.
Folk
Alliance – “Founded in 1989, Folk Alliance was created to increase
public awareness of the vital artistic and cultural importance of folk music
and dance.” C. Shells are members of the Folk Alliance.
The
Hornpipe – “Folk music in the Southern regions.” An on-line magazine
with reviews and interviews of folk music from the Southern portion of the
United States. Check out the review of our first CD, “C. Shells.”
The
Itinerant Band– One of the band members, Susan Lawlor, played on our
“Animal Tails” CD as well as our new album, “Just For Fun!” Susan
plays a variety of flutes and pennywhistles with this wonderful band. Their
CD’s are also available at CDBaby.com.
John
Kays – John Kays is the very talented husband of Cindy Kays. He has just
released a CD of all original music in the “acoustic/swing/jazz/ragtime”
style. His CD is available from CDBaby.com

Kids
Corner Radio – Affiliated with WXPN Public Radio near Philadelphia, PA,
Kids Corner plays music on their Friday night music party. Recently they have
featured several C. Shells songs including, “Little Sand Flea,”
“Arachnid Boogie,” and more.
The
John Wood Revue – “At kidzmusic.net their job is to help parents find
the best in children’s music, by scouring the schools and libraries and
festivals and children’s birthday parties and (place name of venue here) to
bring you the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the…you get the
picture.” A great site, with lots of wonderful links to other parenting
sites and more.
Little
Big Band – Little Big Band was founded by a friend of Cindy and
Shelly’s - Cathy Francis. “Little Big Band is a children’s music program
designed to introduce young children to a variety of musical experiences.
Through a combination of singing, listening and movement activities, children
will acquire a greater appreciation and understanding of music.”
Parents'
Choice – Parents’ Choice is a non-profit organization that evaluates
children’s media: video, books, games and audio. You can read the review of
our first CD, “C. Shells,” which was awarded a 1998 Parents’ Choice
Silver Honor for excellence in children’s music.
Perrin
Creek Design – How did you like our new album cover layout for “Just
For Fun!”? Well, Barbara Perrin, a wonderful graphic artist and computer
whiz helped Cindy finish up the design when it proved a little more than she
could handle.
Rainbow
Puppets – Founded by David Messick and Melvin T. Brooks, Rainbow Puppets
is a wonderful puppet group from Hampton, Va. dedicated to providing original
family entertainment. They perform at festivals and libraries as well as
schools all over the United States. They are also members of Young Audiences
of Virginia.
Southern
Branch Music – The C. Shells record label. Check out the other artists
and music available.
Tidewater
Friends of Folk Music – The Tidewater Friends of Folk Music are helping
to keep the folk music alive in the Hampton Roads area. C. Shells has
performed at several folk festivals and events sponsored by TFFM.
Trout
Fishing in America – What can I say about Trout Fishing? They’re
GRRREAT! Shelly and I have a grand old time listening to their albums and
their Family Music Party video is just plain fun! Check out their site; they
have games and pictures to color.
Virginia
Living Museum – The Virginia Living Museum is located in Newport News,
VA and is a great place to visit. They have live animals in outdoor habitats,
a planetarium, and wonderful indoor exhibits. Have your birthday party there
or spend the night!
Virginia
Museum of Natural History – Located in Martinsville, VA the VMNH has
dinosaur fossils and bones and does a lot of fun and educational programming
for kids of all ages. Check ‘em out!
Bill
Wellington – Bill is a talented musician and storyteller from Staunton,
VA. In fact, C. Shells performs one of his songs in concert, “Gnarly
Roadrash.” Bill has some wonderful albums available with lots of fun songs.
Young
Audiences of Eastern Pennsylvania – C. Shells will be performing in
schools throughout Eastern Pennsylvania this coming school year: 2001-2002. We
might even get to perform in Cindy’s hometown of Lancaster, PA! Her mom
& dad would like that.
Young
Audiences of Maryland, Inc. – C. Shells just joined the roster of YAMD,
Inc. for the 2001-2002 school year. We’re very excited by this new touring
opportunity.
Young
Audiences of Virginia – Members of YAV for the past 5 years or so and
performing as “Cindy and Shelly” as well as with the 4-piece folk group,
“Music of the People,” C. Shells will once again be traveling the state of
Virginia.
