1.  I’d like to be a mermaid swimming in the sea

     And all the little fishies would swim along with me

     I’d splash up to the surface and on the waves I’d float

     Singing, “Okie dokie, okie dokie, okie dokie, doke.”

2.  I wish I were a lion living in the woods

     I’d pounce and howl and roar and growl just like a lion should

     And when it’s time to take a bath, I’d lick my tawny coat

     Purring, “Okie dokie, okie dokie, okie dokie, doke.”

3.  I’d like to be a birdie flapping in the breeze

     I’d swoop and soar and then I’d perch up in the highest tree

     My voice would be so lovely and with a happy note

4.  I wish I was a dinosaur crashing through the swamp

     Looking for my supper a tasty thing to chomp

     I’d find my nervous victim, then tell a silly joke

     They’d laugh, “Okie dokie, okie dokie, okie dokie, doke.”
