1.
Well, listen up children, I’ll tell you a story
‘Bout Rocky the stone from down in the quarry
Now Rocky was a little bit shy, but a very determined guy
Now this might not come as much of a shock
But there’s not a lot of things that you can do when you’re a
rock
So while the other stones were off say bowling,
Rocky just loved to go rolling!
CHORUS:
Roll,
roll, roll, roll, Rocky roll
Roll, roll, roll, roll, Rocky roll
Do it with your heart and all of your soul
Roll, Rocky roll
2.
On Saturday night in Granitetown would be a contest
Who’s the best dancer around
Said to his girlfriend Sharon, “Am I the best?
I think I’ll enter that dance contest.”
She said, “It’s hard to go dancing when you ain’t got feet.
Tap your toes to a crazy beat.”
All the stones laughed, they thought it was droll
But Rocky said, “Then I’ll just roll!”
3.
Now that Saturday night, there was a gathering crowd
The music was cooking it was getting’ real loud.
The dancers were dancin’ with their best moves
The judges were judgin’ getting’ in with the groove.
“I’m kinda scared Sharon,” Rocky told her
“But I’ll do it anyway!” said the shy little boulder
So Rocky rolled out onto the floor
Gave it everything he had and a little bit more
And when he twirled and when he soared
The crowd jumped up and really roared!
And the judges never’d seen that before
And they gave him the prize after the encore. And they all
cheered…
4.
Now Rocky is a hero down in the quarry
And all the little pebbles just love to hear his story.
‘Bout being brave, tryin’ something new
Doin’ things others think you can’t do.
‘Cause every moment wasted is moment lost
Find your dream and set that goal
Just give all of your heart and all of your soul
