GLORIOUS WORMS

©1998 Shelly Craig

C. Shells – “Animal Tails”  CD/Cassette

1.  The turtles were piled on a log in the sun

‘Cause that’s what turtles like to do for fun

One says loudly, “I’d like something to eat.”

And they all sang together of their favorite treat

CHORUS: Worms, worms, glorious worms

Love to watch them wiggle and squirm

If I had my way, I’d eat ‘em night and day

Glorious, glorious, glorious, glorious, glorious, glorious worms

2.  Sindee the turtle spoke up with glee

I’ll start a worm farm by the old rose tree

“That’s too much work. That won’t be fun.

We’d rather lie here in the sun.” Singing…

3.  So Sindee worked and Sindee toiled

Moving rocks and tilling the soil

And she gathered up her worms, 1, 2, 3

And put them in her farm by the old rose tree

4.  She’d pick up a worm in her little turtle paw

And tickle their tummy with her little turtle claw

And they’d wiggle and giggle ‘neath the old rose tree

For Sindee made friends and sang happily

CHORUS: Worms, worms, glorious worms

Love to watch them wiggle and squirm

If I had my way, I’d do nothing but play

Glorious, glorious, glorious, glorious, glorious, glorious worms

5.  Sindee noticed the rose tree with roses galore

It was blooming like never bloomed before

The worms must make this ground fertile

Said the smart little Sindee the turtle

6.  Now the turtles and the worms live happily

Under the shade of the old rose tree

For it’s better to have friendly company

Than to put your friends in a recipe
